At Haven's Kitchen, we've always found kinship with Food52 founders Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs philosophy about cooking: it brings your family (both biological and chosen) together, it makes people happy, and it creates a sense of home for those around you. We also are always emphasizing the importance of a home cooked dinner during the week as a salve to the busyness and stress of the day-to-day concerns.
However, at times, cooking, seems more like a chore and a burden. In their new cookbook, A New Way to Dinner Amanda and Merrill provide a playbook for meal. This class takes their recipes as a point of inspiration, and will teach you how to make cooking dinner during the mid-week an enjoyable process. Students will cook a meal and take home a kit to plan a weekday dinner.
Merrill will be in the cafe from 6:30 to 7pm to sign and sell books.
