"A meal, according to my understanding anyhow, is a communal event, bringing together family members, neighbors, even strangers. At its most ordinary, it involves hospitality, giving, receiving and gratitude"
– Wendell Berry
Haven’s Kitchen provides on-site and off-site private event services. We specialize in culinary-focused events, from wedding receptions and cooking classes, to press launches and corporate conferences. We work as a creative partner with our guests who are celebrating milestones, launching projects they’ve worked hard to build, or simply want a space to cook and eat.
Our Chelsea carriage house has two floors of event space, available individually or combined, to host up to 200 guests. Our programs, menus, and service style are curated for each event. In line with our mission, we are committed to using seasonal produce and sourcing sustainably raised meats and fish.

Haven's Kitchen opened as a cooking school with the goal of reconnecting people with the joy of cooking and eating. Each class is structured to provide a hands-on experience in a warm and welcoming environment. Students are encouraged to ask questions and immerse themselves in the process of cooking. Our instructors have trained in various fields in the food and beverage industry, from holistic nutrition to fine dining at top New York City restaurants. In line with our mission, classes focus on cooking with local and seasonal produce.
Most of the classes on our public school calendar are available to book for private classes. Popular classes include: Fresh Pasta, Simple Seasonal Suppers, and Handmade Dumplings.
Our private classes are designed for all types of groups from bridal showers to friend and family outings. Cooking classes also provide an interactive and collaborative setting for corporate teambuilding and client entertaining. Read "Team Building in the Cafeteria" from the Harvard Business Review to why cooking classes are an apt structure for teambuilding.
