Rosh Hashanah isn't just a celebration of the Jewish New Year, it's a celebration of Jewish customs and food. Join Chef Ron Arazi and pastry Chef Leetal Arazi – the team behind NYShuk, an Israeli duo making couscous and more from scratch in NYC – as they prepare a delicious Middle Eastern Rosh Hashanah, kosher feast in the comfort of the Haven's Kitchen dining room. Dishes like Matbucha - cooked tomatoes, chili, and garlic - hand rolled couscous, saffron short ribs and capers, and Tanzeya - dried fruit stew with sauteed onion and almonds - will be complimented with traditional blessings and stories.
As always our Supper Clubs will begin with cocktails and canapés in our teaching kitchen, and a wine-paired dinner in our dining room with thirty fantastic guests.
"Our goal is to create an interpretation of our own heritage; traditional Jewish middle eastern food. “Shuk” means market in Hebrew and for us the market is the core basis of a united community, a place for local culture and commerce to come together. With every journey we take, it is the market foods of our community that travels with us."
