Description

Did you know there are hundreds of flowers that bees visit to make honey, and there is a varietal honey to complement every food group? Join Italian-trained honey expert, Carla Marina Marchese, on a multi-sensory tasting journey to discover the difference between taste and flavor and how to taste, evaluate and pair honey like a pro. Engage your senses through a guided tasting of 6 unique honeys perfectly paired with cheeses, seasonal produce, chocolate and mead. Learn how honeybees make this liquid gold we call honey, pollinate our food and how terroir and nectar source determines a honey’s color, aroma and flavor. By the end of the workshop, you will have sharpened your honey tasting skills and palette to choose the ideal food pairing. As a bonus, you will learn how to build a honey tasting board to woo your guests at your next cocktail party. This is truly a unique honey lover’s experience!

Included with the price of the class are Marina’s book, The Honey Connoisseur, and a jar of her own Red Bee honey.

Carla Marina is a member of the Italian National Register of Experts in the Sensory Analysis of Honey, where she received her formal training, and the author of The Honey Connoisseur: Selecting, Tasting, and Pairing Honey, With a Guide to More Than 30 Varietals and the founder of beloved brand Red Bee Honey.
