Inspired By...

A derivative of the Arabic word “tahn,” Tahini simply means ground sesame seeds. And ever since some lucky lady tasted sesame paste, well over 7 centuries ago, it's been an essential ingredient in the Levant, Egypt, Turkey, China, Vietnam and India. Tahini sauce, generally made by mixing tahini paste with garlic, lemon and salt, is a staple in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cooking, adding earthy, tangy flavor to practically every dish.

 


Our Version...

Our Tahini sauce plays a bit on the traditional recipe. It’s a blend of toasted, ground sesame seeds with olive oil, garlic and a pop of ground sumac for a kick of citrusy flavor. Then we add turmeric, the anti-inflammatory wunderkind, which gives our Tahini a little more complexity and it’s gorgeous golden hue.

 

 

 

How to Use It...

Tahini is best known for the role it plays when blended into hummus and baba ghanoush, but don't put this golden baby in the corner...Drizzle it on just about anything from cucumbers to lamb roasts to avocado toast. It’s also a fantastic salad dressing and marinade for chicken.
