BBQ-Seared Ahi Tuna Bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of warm Jasmine, or sticky rice, cooked according to package instructions

  • 1 pound sushi-grade Ahi tuna filet, cut into about 1-inch bites

  • Salt

  • Pinch of chili flakes (optional)

  • Cooking oil

  • Haven’s Kitchen Tangy BBQ Sauce

  • 1 avocado, chopped into bite-sized pieces

  • ½ cup mango or pineapple, chopped into bite-sized pieces (if you can find it!)

  • Toasted sesame oil

  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced

  • Cilantro, minced

Prepare your rice

Heat a medium-sized pan over high heat. Drizzle oil to coat the pan and once it shimmers, add the tuna in a single layer (possibly in batches so they have plenty of room), season with salt and optional chili flakes, and sear all but two opposite sides (about 10 seconds per side). Remove from pan

STEP 3

Toss the tuna bites in Tangy BBQ sauce and add to a bowl filled with the warm rice, avocado, and fruit. Drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with scallions and cilantro
