Cooking 101
If you’ve noticed a pattern of honey and harissa, it’s because we adore this combo. The sweetness pairs perfectly with the warm spices in our Zippy Harissa, and it helps develop the caramelization that you’re looking for with the veggies. Crispy shallots are one of our favorite grocery hacks. They’re crispy, super flavorful, and add a little pizzaz to anything from veggie sides to soups, salads, and rice bowls.
Chef Tip: Spread everything out evenly on the baking sheet so you get color, not steam. The parchment is there for easy clean up, so don’t sweat it if you don’t have any!
½ Lb. green beans, trimmed
1 Lb. carrots, halved lengthwise
Olive oil
Haven’s Kitchen Zippy Chili Harissa
2 Tbsp. Honey
Salt
½ cup crispy shallots, optional
Preheat your oven to 425°F
In a large bowl, toss the carrots and beans with a glug of olive oil, ½ a pouch of the Harissa, honey, and a pinch of salt. Lay the vegetables on a baking sheet tray lined with parchment paper and place it inside the oven to roast for 25-30 minutes until the carrots are tender
Top the roasted vegetables with the crispy shallots and serve immediately

Many of our recipes also call for a glug of oil, often when heating oil in a pan or lightly dressing vegetables before roasting. We don’t expect you to pull out a measuring spoon every time you go to cook (but if you want to, that’s ok!) so we estimate a glug is about 2 tablespoons worth of oil.
