Cooking 101
If you haven’t tried grilling cheese yet, we highly recommend starting here. Haloumi’s firm texture keeps its shape on the grill, and the tangy sheep’s milk goes perfectly with our Zippy Chili Harissa. White beans add extra protein to this heaty vegetarian dish. Serve it with crusty bread for your new favorite party appetizer.
Chef Tip:Slice the haloumi in 1-inch thick slices so they keep their shape on the grill.
One box of fresh cherry tomatoes
One 13oz can of crushed Italian tomatoes
One 13oz can of white beans, rinsed
One 8 oz package of Halloumi cheese, sliced
A few sprigs of fresh parsley or cilantro
Heat a grill pan to medium high and brush with a bit of oil. Grill sliced haloumi for 1-2 minutes per side to get nice even char marks.
In a small pot, combine tomatoes, beans, and Harissa. Bring to a simmer
Serve with halloumi and herbs on top
This recipe is also great with our Golden Turmeric Tahini and Red Pepper Romesco sauce.
