Sesame Crusted Seared Tuna Salad

Sesame crust. Tender, seared tuna. Sliced and served on top of a refreshing green salad and drizzled with a lime-y, tahini-soy dressing that you might find yourself drizzling over a lot of other dishes.

Chef's Tip: Only buy sushi-grade tuna from a market you trust.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup black & white sesame seeds

  • Salt

  • 2 pieces yellowfin tuna, about 1½ lbs each

  • Olive oil

  • Haven's Kitchen Golden Turmeric Tahini

  • 2 limes

  • 1 tsp soy sauce or coconut aminos

  • About 8 cups of your favorite salad greens, chopped

  • 3 small Persian cucumbers, sliced

  • 1 avocado, sliced

Steps

Step 1

Spread the sesame seeds and a pinch of salt out on a large plate. Pat the tuna steaks dry, brush them with olive oil, and coat both sides of the tuna in the sesame seeds

Step 2

Heat a large pan over medium heat and add a glug of oil to coat the pan. Add the tuna to the pan and sear for about 2 minutes per side

Step 3

While the fish is cooking, mix together 1/4 pouch of Tahini with the juice of the limes, the zest of one, and the soy sauce

Step 4

Add all of your veggies to a large platter or bowl, and top with the tuna slices

Step 5

Drizzle everything with the tahini-soy dressing
