Tangy BBQ Ribs

Slow cooking ribs in the oven makes them tender, juicy, and fall off the bone. Our tangy BBQ acts as a flavorful marinade, then caramelizes in the hot oven creating a smoky crust that is truly finger licking good.

Chef Tip: Removing or piercing the silver skin on the underside of the ribs is a crucial step. The skin becomes taut and tough as the ribs cook. It’s usually easy to peel away with the edge of a spoon. If that method is tricky, simply pierce it all over with a paring knife to prevent it shrinking as it cooks. Once cooked, you can peel it off before serving.

STEP 1

Remove the silver skin on the backside of the ribs with a spoon, or pierce it many times with a paring knife, then lightly coat each side of the ribs in about ½ pouch of sauce.

STEP 2

Let stand for 30 mins at room temperature and while waiting, preheat the oven to 300F.

STEP 3

Wrap ribs in aluminum foil and place on a sheet pan lined with a bakers rack in the middle of the oven

STEP 4

After 2 hours, check ribs for doneness. They should easily pull away from the bone

STEP 5

Remove the ribs from oven, unwrap them from the tinfoil and raise the temperature to 400F.

STEP 6

Brush more BBQ sauce over the ribs and cook, uncovered for about 5 minutes until sauce is hot and glazy.
