Zippy Harissa Shakshuka

Shakshuka is a breakfast food in Tel Aviv, but it's also a satisfying dinner - especially with a nice hunk of sourdough toast and a glass of wine. Our Harissa flavors the tomato sauce, so you don't have to. And if you feel like it, throw some crumbled feta on top before serving, or add peppers and onions to the sauce. We love it just the way it is.

Chef's Tip: It's worth buying high quality, Italian canned tomatoes. They literally come out of the field and into the can in the deep summer. Also, you can make this on the stove top by covering the pan and keeping an eye, rather than using the oven.

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F

Step 2

In a large skillet over medium heat, combine tomatoes, a pinch of salt, and 1/4 pouch of Zippy Chili Harissa. Cook for about 10 minutes

Step 3

Gently crack eggs into the tomato mixture, being careful to keep the yolks intact

Step 4

Transfer skillet to the oven and bake until egg whites are opaque, about 7-10 minutes

Step 5

Remove from the oven, sprinkle with parsley and serve with remaining Harissa. If using, finish with lemon zest
