Herby Chimichurri Strata

Strata is the perfect make-ahead brunch dish. Like frittata’s carby cousin, it packs flavor and protein while saving you from cooking eggs to order on a busy weekend morning. You can even assemble it the night before and refrigerate, so all you have to do is pop it in the oven and sip your coffee in the morning. You can also slice this once cooked and reheat for a quick breakfast on the go.

Chef Tip: You can fold in things like chopped cooked bacon, sausage, or roasted veggies to bulk this up.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf sourdough, cut into large cubes

  • 6 eggs

  • 2 cups milk

  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 1 pouch Haven's Kitchen Herby Chimichurri

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp ground black pepper

Steps

STEP 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

STEP 2

In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and 1/2 pouch Haven's Kitchen Herby Chimichurri. Fold in 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar and bread cubes. Mix until combined.

STEP 3

Pour mixture into a lightly oiled baking dish, top with the remaining cheddar. Cover dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

STEP 4

After 30 minutes, remove foil and continue baking for 10-15 minutes until top is golden brown and center is set.

Step 5- Herby Chimichurri Strata

Remove from oven and cool for 10 minutes. Garnish with the remaining Haven's Kitchen Herby Chimichurri and enjoy!
