How can I purchase a gift certificate?
Gift certificates can be purchased online. Gift certificates can be used to register for cooking classes andretail products online. For redemption in the cafe, please contact us at 212.929.7900 x4, Mondays through Fridays from 10am to 5pm for assistance.
How can I redeem a gift certificate?
When you have added everything you desire to your cart, you will be able to include your gift certificate code as a payment method. If there is a remaining balance to be paid, you will be prompted to include additional credit card information. If you have a remaining balance on your gift certificate, you will be able to view the amount under payment method and clicking "check gift card status". Gift certificates are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Returns made on gift certificate purchases will be issued as store credit. Haven's Kitchen is not responsible for lost or stolen gift certificate codes. Gift certificates do not expire. What is a “recreational cooking school”?
Depending on the course, in general, there are twelve seats per cooking class, and ten seats per beverage class. Our classes are meant for the experienced home cook as well as those who have never boiled water. We are not a culinary school for professional chefs. Rather, we are a place for guests to reacquaint themselves with the pleasures of eating and entertaining. Classes are recreational in the sense that we want the kitchen to become a place that is fun, full of enjoyment and free of fear. We use the school as a platform to educate, as well as remind our guests how wonderful it is to prepare a meal from scratch and enjoy it with others.
How much do classes cost?
Classes range in price from $125 to $175. Differences in pricing are dictated by ingredients used in the class and instruction. Every class includes instruction from a knowledgeable and accomplished culinary instructor, along with a full meal with wine, and coffee or cocktails when appropriate. We will e-mail out recipes as well as contact information for the chef should you have any other questions after the class.

What about dietary restrictions?
Our kitchen is not nut, egg, dairy or gluten-free — if you have a severe allergy to something, please don’t take the risk. If you do have a specific allergy or dietary restriction, let us know in the comment section of your registration or email us. Our instructors do their best to cater to your dietary restrictions, however we cannot guarantee that you will be able to eat every item prepared in class and the curriculum for some classes will not be able to accommodate certain dietary restrictions. Our instructors will also be more than willing to offer you any advice on swapping out ingredients for when you are cooking at home.
What is the age minimum?
Our age minimum for classes at Haven’s Kitchen is sixteen unless otherwise noted. Students under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by a chaperone that is also registered for class. Please also be mindful that class topics that mention alcohol in the title may be inappropriate for our under 21-year-old guests.
What is your cancellation policy?
Haven’s Kitchen does not issue refunds for class cancellations. However, if you need to reschedule a class, please call us at 212.929.7900 or email us at [email protected] 3 days before your class for credit. For people who book a block of 4 seats, we require that you cancel 5 days before your scheduled class so we have time to rebook those seats. Seats are transferrable, so we are happy to welcome a friend in your place. All class credits expire after 90 days after the cancellation date.
