Miso Scallion Turkey Burgers

Fun fact! Ali has 5 kids. Yep. And the one dish every single one of them loves? You guessed it! These burgers are packed with fresh herbs and scallions, and the Gingery Miso imbues them with all the right umami flavors. They're glazed at the end with the warm sauce; no wonder they're on repeat at her house!

Chef's Tip: Don't overwork your burger, once you've formed a patty, let it be. And definitely don't flip her before she's ready to flip; you'll know it's ready when it releases easily from the bottom of the pan.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey meat (ground beef, ground chicken, or vegan ground meat)

  • 1 bunch of cilantro, chopped

  • 3 scallions, chopped

  • 2 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds

  • Salt

Steps

Step 1

Combine the meat, cilantro, scallions, sesame seeds, a pinch of salt, and a generous squeeze of Gingery Miso sauce in a large mixing bowl and make 4 equal patties

Step 2

In a large pan over medium-high heat, add a glug of oil to coat the pan and add the patties

Step 3

Cook for about 4 minutes, undisturbed. Then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes, until the burgers are cooked through and the internal temperature is 165°F. You'll know they're ready to flip when they release easily from the pan

Step 4

Cut the heat, add another squeeze of sauce and use the warm sauce to glaze the burgers. Garnish with any remaining scallions
