Cooking 101
Skirt steak is marinated in Gingery Miso for a tangy, flavorful weeknight dinner.
Chef Tip: Skirt steak is a cheaper steak that marinates beautifully. No need for fancy, expensive cuts of meat when skirt steak will take on marinade flavors so perfectly!
1 ½ lb. skirt steak
Salt and pepper
Neutral oil
Pat skirt steak dry and season with salt and pepper. Place in a bowl or Ziplock bag and coat with 1 pouch Gingery Miso.
Optional: Marinate for up to 4 hours.
Remove steak from marinade and scrape off excess sauce. Heat a cast iron skillet until almost smoking. Add a drizzle of neutral oil and sear steak on one side for about 5 minutes.
When steak is beginning to char, flip and sear the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes. Let steak rest 5-10 minutes. Slice thin and serve.
