Vegan Zucchini Fries with Golden Tahini

The crispy coating on these vegan zucchini fries is easy to prepare and so flavorful thanks to the nutritional yeast, which adds a cheesy element. Think of these as a mozzarella stick's vegan cousin. Our creamy Golden tahini adds that extra touch of flavor, texture, and pop of color, perfect as a side for burger night or an easy party appetizer.

Chef Tip:The batter and crispy coating in this recipe work together to make a super crisp shell for these zucchini sticks. The batter will be thick, so don’t be alarmed by that. If it’s too thin, it will just slide right off the surface of the zucchini.

Ingredients

  • 2-4 medium zucchini cut in even sticks

  • 1 cup non- dairy plant milk

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs

  • 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast

  • Cooking oil

  • Haven’s Kitchen Golden Turmeric Tahini

Steps

STEP 1

Preheat oven to 425. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper

STEP 2

Whisk the milk, flour and salt in a large bowl, it’ll be thick!

STEP 3

Mix the panko and nutritional yeast together in a shallow bowl

STEP 4

Dip zucchini into the batter, then dredge it in the Panko mixture, gently pressing to coat. Repeat

STEP 5

Heat a large pan, then add cooking oil to coat the bottom plus a little more. Fry the zucchini until each side is deeply golden, then transfer to the oven for 10 minutes, or until zucchini is cooked through

STEP 6

Serve with Tahini!
